The items listed below include beverage containers that are covered under the NYS Returnable Container Act, also known as the “Bottle Bill”. Residents can return beverage containers covered under the Bottle Bill to local redemption sites to get back the deposit they paid for the containers when the beverages were first purchased. According to the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation, in 2020, the Bottle Bill helped to recycle more than 240,000 tons of plastic, glass, and aluminum beverage containers at no cost to local governments. CLICK HERE to view frequently asked questions about the Bottle Bill.
